I Got Tagged!

Well, I got tagged! While all the techie stuff was going on in my blog world I got an email from the Knitorious Mrs B that I had been tagged! Now I am very new to all of this. I had no idea what this meant. I assumed it was something like a hello I got you kinda thing. I was completely unable to post whatsoever so I knew there wasn't anything I could do.

After a few days I got another email saying "Hi Paula! You've been tagged! go to http://www.theknitoriousrsb.blogspot.com/ to see what it's all about! happy knitting!" At this point I am already mourning the obvious loss of my blog, and my DH says that he has heard of this too. He said that on his site (xanga.com) that you can be tagged and you must respond. That is about all he said before conking out for the night. Well, don't you just know that my "little" mind just went nuts! I thought sure that I would get detention or something for not being able to participate! So, of course even more emails went flying to blogger support. I got an email off to Linda the knitoriousmrs B and explained why I wasn't being a team player...I am sure she thought I was nuts. (I am you know...all knitters are!) She was so sweet, calmed my nerves immensely, so while I have been trying to build a blog somewhere else....NO PLACE LIKE HOME...Blogger is fixed and I am back on the TEAM! Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Paaaaleease! Now I am always telling my youngest dd that she is a total D-R-A-M-A Queen, and now I am seeing for sure where she had to have gotten it from! Who knew?! LOL

OK well here is how it goes... I am to list 6 weird things about me, and then I must tag 6 unsuspecting bloggers in the knitting world.....And list the rules... and notify these folks on their blog that they've been tagged...

So do you get all of that? Now I must go into the weird of ME: (I wouldn't want to ruin the fun...I will get my revenge on the next unsuspecting knitter!! muhaha!!)

1. I am a bit of a perfectionist. Apparently only on certain things...the ones I want to do, and everything else can just be flawed.

2. We bowl on Thursday nights, and if for some reason ER doesn't get recorded for later viewing...I can be known to throw a FIT! I always apologize later! :)

3. I am totally and forever addicted to POPCORN! I can just smell it now!

4. Wow this is getting hard...(you try telling on yourself!) OK OK, how about this? I am only 32 but I love making my 2 DD's giggle by reverting into ...." ya rekcon", an "shur nuff", and things like that! On the same note, since I was little my mom, grandmother, brother and I have always had our own little language. Silly things really, but it always takes boring and turns it to fun!

5. I cannot watch a scary movie without my feet being covered up. If it is 110*F in our house and we happen to watch something a little spooky..my feet are under cover, kid, or husband!

6. My DH says HURRY....and that is like the foulest one word I have ever heard. I have been known to get downright huffy over it.

Dead CAT?

Well, a very tragic but non knitting kinda story to share. Friday Jan 12 we found a cat dead in cousins drive way across the street. We had no doubt he was my daughters beloved cat. DH decided he would tell her in a few days. None of us looking forward to it at all as I am sure you can imagine.

Well, on Tuesday my FIL was out on front porch and he hears a familiar meow, meow. Do you know what happened next? Around the corner her came Tigger trotting pretty as punch right up to my FIL for a belly rub! How do you like that. Who's cat do you suppose we took care of that awful day? I don't know about you but that is the very first time I have ever wrongly identified someone else's kitty for ours. I even checked it out up close. I was so shocked!

Thankfully we had not told my DD yet! Of course, now she knows about it. I probably should have kept my mouth shut but I can't control that thing! Here is a pic of purdy kitty...Tigger.

Here is a pic of "Buddy" the most adorable family member in the house. (Psst...Don't tell my girls I said that!!) He is one 1 1/2 yrs old. He is a Walmeriener/Australian shepherd mix. Very smart indeed. He is 6o lbs of energy!!

My too cute DD and Buddy! He is such a character. Of course, she is too!

I have to be more careful...my eyes are apparently not that trust worthy!

Oh MY GOODNESS

I am actually posting on my blog!!!! I have been locked out for a very long time! I have finally figured it out after blogger support stepped in. It was all a bunch of silliness with my browsers security settings. I guess since the big change over that it didn't recognize where all these pages came from so computer deemed them restricted and blocked sites. YAY Blogger Support...while on the slow side...are geniuses!!!

Christmas Gifts & Overall Update

Well, I have been trying to get on this blog for 2 weeks! I don't know if I am the only one or not, but blogger has let me see my page but that's it. No editing or uploading pics for me. Which speaking of pics, I don't have all of them yet. Also, I am not pleased with my pics. They are not turning out so good. Well here they are anyway.

My second and much better attempt at the Dec 1 KAL. It is even facing the right direction! YEE HAW! I was so busy with gift knitting I never even got to try the midmonth one. I will try to backtrack a little later I guess. I may not be an expert but these dishcloths are so much fun that in no time you feel like one! It is day three for the Jan 1 KAL and here is my progress so far.




Not to change the subject, but here is the fast & furious Christmas gift marathon results.


1. Purple Scarf for freind Karen



2. Three dishcloths for Mom & a lovely lumpy fleece scarf in sandstone color (winter white with creamyish stray yarns throughout. (My mom is supposed to be emailing me pics of all of these. I was knitting these right up until go time and had no time to take pics, & my Mom lives out of town. She just started Nursing School today GO MOM!! So she is not cooperating very quickly. That's ok we'll wait I guess, LOL!)



3. Funky striped scarf for my youngest Anna.



4. Dark & Light pink striped scarf for my oldest Emily.




5. Some oddball grandmas favorite dishcloths that didn't make it into a Christmas box...Not sure why now. I sort of just kept making them after it was already too late. I guess I will be forced to keep them...what a hardship) NOT! (Oh, also I must give credit where credit is due..I believe that Emily and Anna did these! Oh I hope these are not a late gift that we have to mail out...If so certain recipient don't breathe a word about seeing these. I have to finish weaving the ends on these but overall they are done.)



6. Emily knit our cousin a green fleece scarf. Anna hasn't finished hers yet..she is working on a blue one for the other cousin. (Again more ends to weave...they will knit it, but I must finish it!)

7. I went nuts New Years Eve over a garterlac dishcloth and just couldn't go to bed until I made one! I finished it and headed for bed about 3am, and Hubby gives us a scare with high blood pressure and rapid racing heart rate. We headed for the ER and they got it down and sent us home 3 hrs later..Must be a record...3hrs thats all??? Today is Wed and it started again last night so we went to dr today and he changed his meds. He also has bronchitis so it is fun here right now. Poor hubby...Praying he will get well soon. Here is the cloth. This one was a bit confusing at first. I frogged it more times than I would like to admit, but I finally got it. I mastered it once I realized this was not a mindless pattern like grandmas fav though it seems this way in the beginning. Once you get used to the first row it is very easy. 8. Started scarves for the sister-in-laws...saw this wasn't going to happen so they were frogged! Sorry...will have to start now for next year!! I will make something fine next year. I will probably begin in June. Right now I have twin cousins due in April but expecting them early, so I am scrambling to get a plan of action. Then of course act on it!

9. My Mom made the SAAWEETEST crocheted potholders for a dear friend of hers....they are so cute. I apparently deleted, lost or something the pics for these so I will update when I find them.



10. My Mom also made my SIL's dog a cutey patooty pompom sweater.

11. I made my first baby hat last night! It was very fun. It has two rows of eyelet holes in the center but camera does nothing justice here let alone show details!! Pics of pooch above are of course not from my camera!

Well, I guess I need to go for now...it is 2:41am and I am tired! I was just so excited that I could actually post I could not wait. (I have been having technical difficulties with the blog...but maybe thats all better now!)

Dishcloths

Well, here is my very humble attempt at an illusion dishcloth. This cloth is from the monthly dischloth group December knit-a-long. I am finished, but I still can't quite figure out why my top border is on the back and the rocking horse is facing the wrong way!! Oh well...hopefully attempt to currently on the needles will be better. Even though it didn't turn out quite right it was still a blast! I can't wait till the 16th for the mid month kal!!!!!

Well my 13 yr old Emily did this along with me...and hers turned out right. Not to mention the horse is facing the correct direction! Check it out. This is her second official project. The first is a blue and pink ballband dishcloth from the mason dixon book! Love it!

Both of my young ladies are on the road to becoming accomplished knitters! What prestige! Hankerchief..pish posh and all that jazz! :*) ( the colors on all three of these pics are not real great but...the top cloth is sage green, middle cloth lavender, and the last is blue and pink.)

Baby Kimono Fininshed!

Well when I started this adorable baby kimono from the awesome Mason Dixon Knitting book I didn't think I could pull it off. Project #4 is a success! When it was time to bind off and continue knitting only on one sleeve I was convinced that it would turn out like the first pair of shorts I tried to sew. When I was done with shorts they had two cylinders in which to place legs but then you were in trouble because there was nothing else (not even a waistband!) But instead of being a waste of time as the shorts were, the baby kimono is finished. This was also my first attempt at the mattress stitch & seaming. Can't say that was fun, but I could not possibly leave unfinished when I was so close!!!

Oh I just had to add a pic of my ten year old daughters first handknit. The scarf is so cute on her too! After many attempts at knitting she is a success! I am so proud.
