It is FINISHED!

Well I am finally done. It has been about six months since I began this log cabin baby blankie. Of course I had several long breaks but it is finished. I had heard that the most unexciting part would be the weaving in of all those many ends, but do you know I was just bursting with excitement as each end was neatly tucked away. So here it is... Baby Alex will be warm this winter after all!!!
Well I am also kinda proud to actually have a picture of this one. This is the third handknit I have made. The first a scarf for Mom and the second a ballband dishcloth Mom confiscated. Neither of which did I get a pick for my knitting diary. So this will be the first of many handknits. I love love love knitting. Thank you Mother for giving me the gift of knitting last Christmas. There are my fish, my dog, bowling & my knitting. I think my hobbies are well rounded don't you?

Log Cabin

Well, I have been working on this log cabin baby blankie for about as long as I can stand it. I wonder how difficult it is going to be to work a border on the edges? This is the biggest project I have attempted to date. My first official project was a basic scarf, next was a ballband dishrag....so much fun!! Then I was determined to knit blankie for nephew born in August....I did plan to have it done in time for birth. NOT. It is now almost December and I may be almost done! It has been a learning experience. Fun yet tiring at times. Very easy though. No counting stitches 'n such, but as the strips get longer they obviously take a wee bit longer! It has been well worth the work though. Also, if I didn't have my tension down before it is in the bag now. I will post pics later this week, maybe sooner but I doubt it.

Bye for now
